Remember drama class from high school days? Have you ever noticed how we get distracted from truly living our lives? We get caught up in the dramas which pop up all around us. To me, dramas are like life’s sideshows. The distractions that keep us from our life focus. It’s so enticing to get caught up in someone else’s drama. They love to reel you in.
What if next time when you see someone else trying to draw you into their life drama, you simply say to yourself “Hey, I see a drama starting here! This time I’m going to keep my balance, keep my center, stay in my space of love and just observe.” What will happen? We don’t know exactly until that very moment.
Perhaps the other person will see that they can’t draw you into their drama and will simply find another player.
Perhaps they will be angry.
Perhaps they will be sad.
Perhaps they will ask you “What’s different with you?”
Perhaps a shift will happen.
Perhaps you’ll recognize the next time you are creating a drama.
Recipe for change: Write note to self: I am drama-free.
