For those who have known me for a long time or even a short time, you know that healthy eating is important to me. So many people say to me “you must have incredible will power” but for me, it’s not at all about will power but more about listening to my body. When I put “bad” food into my body, it lets me know right away.
One trigger point for me is that I get a dull ache in my upper right back. I don’t know why, but I just do and it’s always my body telling me that it doesn’t like what I just ate. It took me a while to realize that this was one way that my body speaks to me and now that I know it, I always listen.
Does your body speak to you when you eat less-than-healthy choices? Tummy ache, heartburn, stuffy nose, sinus pressure, gas, diarrhea, body aches…these are all ways that your body can talk to you when you consume food that is unhealthy for your body.
I know that everyone’s body processes differently, and food that may leave me feeling really off-balance may not leave you feeling the same way so I always suggest when you are eating anything, take a moment to quietly listen to what your body is saying to you.
Here’s to your health!
P.S. My Momma Aleene has enjoyed a Coke a day for for as long as I can remember. She just turned 91. I think her body likes bad food. I don’t know has she has survived and thrived for so long but it just goes to show you how different we all are. P.S.S. Don’t tell her, but when I serve her Coke, I always mix it half and half with Juice Squeeze and she doesn’t even notice the difference.
Here’s a typical contrast of tastes…Coke vs Beet-Ginger-Celery juice. Guess which one is mine.
