As I’ve mentioned before, the Weekend Farmgirl ranch is surrounded on three sides by creeks which provides for beautiful scenery. Even though there are clear reminders of the 2006 Day Fire (which burned 162,702 acres of Los Padres National Forest), the landscape continues to rebound. I understand it can take up to 20 years for this area to reforest itself.
We’ve been watching this spring fed area rising and waiting for it to breach to start flowing into the lake. This weekend, we decided to open up the channel. Pete gave a little bit of help with the Kubota.
After about about an hour, the water reached the lake. I’ll share that in an upcoming journal entry!
