It’s official. I’m a rock hound!
There must be a bazillion rocks in the riverbed at the Weekend Farmgirl ranch and I’m starting to move them one by one.
I have been a crystal collector since my sister Candace introduced me to them in the 1980’s. I’ve always liked rocks but now, I’ve discovered that I LOVE rocks! I wish I understood more about how nature can create all these different textures, patterns and colors but it’s definitely the most amazing art right here in my backyard (and front yard and side yard!) and I’ve decided to start collecting!
Black and white, orange, rust, pink, purple, blue, green, white… speckled, striped, dimpled…they’re all here in my riverbed! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
I could spend hours and hours down in the riverbed with my bucket and shovel! I scout out an area and first scan it for a particular color — like pink. I pick up all the pink rocks that call out to me. Next, I scan the same area for green and repeat for each color. See that water in the background? That’s the first trickle of last night’s rainfall making its way down the riverbed. I love Mother Nature!
Sometimes the rocks talk to me :o) This one tells me that her name is Queen Bee. She’s asked to live in my house. I’m happy to oblige!
