My Momma’s Garden.
What a journey it has been for me since my Momma Aleene’s passing last November. It was her dream to move to this ranch but alas, it was not meant to be. A few months before her passing she started to share with us that she did not think that she would make it to the ranch. I knew that she was slowing down, but I didn’t want to believe her. This was the place that we BOTH dreamed about and I was quite sure that she had at least several more years with us. But she knew. It was not meant to be.
Before her passing, she asked me if I would plant a rose garden at the ranch and scatter her ashes there. And so it is. Here is Momma’s Rose Garden.
With 91 rose bushes to celebrate her Earth years, this garden is now fully planted and we simply wait for Nature to take its course and transform this into the garden of her dreams. The bushes are budding so I’m hoping that springtime is soon! And wouldn’t you know, we are anticipating snow tomorrow so I’m mulching to warm up these pretties to help them through the frost.
When the garden is in bloom, we plan to have a BIG BBQ celebration here at the Weekend Farmgirl ranch and I cannot wait to invite ALL of you here to enjoy Momma’s Rose Garden in its springtime glory!
