A happy ending.
From the moment I arrived at the Weekend Farmgirl ranch, I could foresee a lot of animals in our future. We have a small animal barn that was originally built in the 1920’s that I’m sure has housed many a pig, chicken and goat. My passion from the time I can remember was for horses, so I was certain that we’d also be welcoming a few to the ranch.
I started checking around a few months ago to find out how to go about rescuing a horse. I found that Facebook is a wealth of information and resources and I found myself researching long into the night to see if there was the right match for me. I put my name in for a horse at Forgotten Horses Rescue, Inc but found out I was second in line.
Fast forward to a few weeks later and I came across a Facebook post from Neigh Savers Horse Rescue that caught my eye. They said that they had been contacted by a ranch that was shutting down their rental string business and they had 2 weeks to help get these horses homes or they would be put down. I immediately contacted them to find out how I could apply to rescue a horse or two. When I spoke with Nicole, I found out there were actually 6 horses that desperately needed homes. After a quick prayer for guidance, I heard that I should take them all! How could I not? How could I ever pick one over another?
Two weeks later, these beautiful beings now call the Weekend Farmgirl ranch their home! Check out Magic, Peaches, Daisy, Baby Love, Bella & Maude in this quick video.
P.S. There have been such amazing serendipity surrounding the rescue of these horses. I believe that God works in wondrous ways! These horses are going to bring so many blessings to so many.
